Seattle Storm Begins New Chapter While Maintaining Core Franchise Values

Gone are Sue Bird, Breanna Stewart, and now Jewell Loyd, but the Storm enters the 2025 campaign with playoff hopes thanks to returning stars Skylar Diggins-Smith, Nneka Ogwumike, Ezi Magbegor and more.

But the thing about the Storm that isn't changing? Their impact on the Seattle community.

The team's charitable arm, Force4Change, which is run by former player Crystal Langhorne, continues its work in the community.

Force4Change was formed in 2020 and aims to help those in underserved communities. For starters, Force4Change helps people with voter registration and education, the amplification of Black women, and does so with endeavors like “Believe in Women,” “Kicks for Equality” and makes sure to help small businesses, especially in this way.

"To be this platform where it’s not just a sporting organization or a sporting league, but we have a purpose, we have a mission and it's player-led led" Langhorne recently told KOMO News.

"Groups who don't get the love and are very much deserving and being able to invest in businesses, invest in non-profit, even highlighting women doing incredible work in the community is the most meaningful part of the job. To be able to highlight, amplify, be able to tell these stories, particularly for Black History Month, tell Black stories about people who are doing the work," Langhorne added.

The Storm season opens on May 17 with the home opener at Climate Pledge Arena on May 23.
